Matt Brown

"For the Love of Music"- A musical evening and guided conversation with Matt Brown (@mattbrown.music), a local South FL Artist, Musician, Multi Instrumentalist, Music Director, Producer, Engineer, Songwriter, Activist, and Founder of the Soulfam Collective!

Last week’s music salon with @mattbrown.music was EVERYTHING. You really should have been there! He preformed as part of the Art & Culture Salon series featuring local artists across mediums hosted by Gather 639

I am honored I was invited to photograph this intimate salon to not only hear his talent up close and personal but get to know the man behind the music while engaging in dialogue with fellow attendees. The evening will consisted of Mixing, Mingling, Music and intentional conversation with Matt Brown and Salon guests

What is the Art & Culture Series?

Throughout October, 639 Lake Worth Beach will be hosting a Weekly Art & Culture Salons (intimate dialogue-driven gatherings) to deepen dialogue and connection between Local Artist (across mediums) and the community. https://gatherwith639.com/

What is Gather with 639?

A Guided-Gathering space and member’s club for connection, depth, and intellectual curiosity.

At 639 the vibration of connection is encoded in our gatherings (and in the name itself).

more than a number—it’s a sound frequency known for fostering connection, strengthening relationships, and deepening understanding. Three things we need now more than ever.

Why 639? Why Now?

Because so many of us are craving a deeper
relationship with ourselves and with others.

Because we lack consistent third spaces that are
private and dedicated to connection, leisure and
learning.

Because it’s time to reimagine what community
and connection can feel like.

Because we need to stop scrolling and get out of
the comment sections and DM’s.

639 is built for people who don’t just want to
network and be on the scene—they want to
belong and connect on a deeper level.

Behind the Lens: Capturing Papa’s Tapas

There is an undeniable warmth that comes with traditional Spanish dining—a lively rhythm of clinking glasses and shared small plates that make an evening feel like a celebration. Recently, I had the pleasure of capturing this authentic experience firsthand during a commercial photoshoot at Papa’s Tapas in Delray Beach.

Alongside my talented colleague Alexis Paige, who brought the kinetic energy of the space to life on video, our mission was to craft a rich visual story for Papa’s Tapas. The shoot marks a digital rebirth for the restaurant: refreshing their brand-new website and gearing up for the official launch of the Papa’s Tapas Mobile App.

From Alicante to Delray Beach: A Legacy on the Plate

Papa’s Tapas is rooted in a storied tradition that began in Papa’s original kitchen in Alicante, Spain, before finding its home in Delray Beach in 2008. To this day, the restaurant retains the comforting essence of a family gathering space. Run together by Papa and his daughter, the dining room exudes a genuine pride and Spanish hospitality that makes every guest feel immediately at home.

Photographing culinary art requires an equipment setup that can translate textures, rich hues, and intimate ambient light onto the screen. For this session, I relied on my Sony Alpha a7 IV Mirrorless Camera.

  • Authentic Tapas: Golden, crispy croquetas and empanadas, sizzling gambas al ajillo, tender pulpo, perfectly spiced patatas bravas, and savory meatballs Andalucía—each dish plated artfully, begging to be passed around the table.

  • Handcrafted Sangria: Beautifully layered pitchers of ice-cold sangria garnishing the table, reflecting the warm glow of the rustic interior.

While I focused on framing still portraits of the food and atmosphere, Alexis captured the fluid motion of the dining room—the sizzle of the kitchen, the theatrical pour of sangria, and the shared smiles across the table.

A New Era: The App Launch & Updated Website

This imagery serves as the visual centerpiece for Papa’s Tapas' latest digital innovations designed to elevate the guest experience:

  • The Refreshed Website: Featuring vibrant photography and engaging video footage, the new site offers an immersive digital preview of the menu and welcoming atmosphere.

  • The Papa’s Tapas App: Designed for seamless convenience, the upcoming app will allow guests to explore seasonal specials, place orders on the go, and stay connected with ease.

Reserve A Table This Season

As we look ahead to the upcoming season, there is no better time to gather your favorite people for an evening of authentic flavor and connection. Whether you are a longtime patron or discovering their kitchen for the first time, Papa’s Tapas invites you to pull up a chair, order a few more plates than planned, and savor the flavor behind every recipe.

We invite you to explore their new visual look online, download the app, and secure your spot for an unforgettable meal.
